I have VPC 7.0.3 "walking" Windows XP Home in my G5, which has 2gh processor and 1.5gb memory (boosted from 512mb) and and I've set PC memory at the maximum of 512mb. I've ditched just about app I can think of to make it run reasonably but "no go".

Has anybody out there got any ideas for running it reasonably fast?

Go into the help pages of VPC. There are some recommendations on making
XP faster, like turning off the extra graphics so that it looks like NT
3.5. Also, any virus scanner will drag your system down right after
boot as it scans the disk for about 10 minutes or more.

Maybe NT4 or Windows 2000, but not NT3.5. NT3.5 still had the Windows
3.1 look. ;-0

MS used to (or still may have the support page somewhere) that dealt with
this and VPC. There are a few things to do inside Windows and there are a
few things you can tweak in VPC also like turning off USB if you are not
using it and turning off running Windows Apps in the Dock and what not. I
did all these in Windows and VPC and it does help. I have a Dual G5 2.0ghz
and XP Pro is usable.
