Additions installation causes display problem

After installing Virtual PC 2007 additions, the VM display is terrible.
Display Properties Settings shows Display: (Default Monitor) on VM Additins
S3 Trio32/64). The only screen resolution available is 800 x 600 and the only
Color quality available is "Lowest ( 4 bit)". Does anyone know why I would
no longer be able to get Color quality of 32 bit or at least 16 bit? Host is
Vista 64-bit and Guest VM is XP.
