I've been trying to figure out the keyboard shortcuts on the Parallels
version of the virtual pc.

Figured out you can use all the Function key shortcuts as you would in
windows if you just press the Fn key at the same time! e.g. Fn + F4 in
excel changes your cell references from absolute to relative. Very
cool.

Has anyone figured out how to print screen from a keyboard shortcut?

Also in powerpoint the Ctrl+Shift+Drag shortcut to copy something but
keep one edge aligned to the original doesn't seem to work very well.
Any ideas?

Hi Laura,

Out of respect for the fact that Parallels is a product that competes
with Microsoft Virtual PC it would probably be best for you to address
your question to the Parallels company:

Here's a link to their support site:

Actually, Microsoft does NOT make a competing product. Virtual PC runs only on a PowerPC-based Mac while Parallels works only on an Intel-based Mac. Different worlds. Microsoft has made no announcement they will support the new macs at all.

On with the info....

Your can do this easily (from the parallels doc) :

(1) In Mac OS X, open System Preferences, and click Universal Access in the System section.

(2)In the Universal Access window select Enable access for assistive devices option.

you lose the ability to do the expose functions but it will make your windows experience MUCH better.

I hope this is helpful.

Technically, you are correct.

Different worlds......WRONG newsgroup.

Microsoft does not provide this newsgroup for Parallels issues!!

Microsoft owns and hosts the main newsgroup servers
(msnews.microsoft.com) which provides the NNTP feeds that other
newsgroup providers offer on their servers.

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/guide/newsgroupfaq.mspx
http://www.usenet.com/articles/microsoft_newsgroups.htm

This is the "official" Microsoft newsgroup for Virtual PC for Mac and
it's offered by Microsoft, that's why it's not comp.mac.virtualpc.
Other USENET providers can access the MS server's and repost the info
on their own server.

Yes, if MS removed it from "their" servers, it would be retained as an
archive on other NNTP server and google, but I doubt you find new
posts.

Also, regardless of what you think about who provides this newsgroup,
it is for Virtual PC and not Parallels. You're completely off the
topic of this newsgroup. Should we discuss VM Ware's products here,
how about Windows in general? Maybe Apple's switch to Intel CPUs?

Hey

I just found out how to do print screen without having to use the OSK.
Press Shift + Apple Key + 3, which will show the Screen shot on your Mac.
Hope this helps
:-)
