I had to reinstall my MacOS. I reinstalled VPC7, and opened my already-in-existence Win2000 virtual machine.

but now, every time I open my virtual machine, VPC7 startup wizard keeps popping up, asking to create a new virtual machine.

how do I get the program to stop it from keep wanting to create new virtual machine? the existent win2k machine shows up on the Virtual PC list, and I can start/stop that machine ok. just that the host VPC7 program doesn't seem to understand that there already is a virtual machine running/working.

OK I just did it and it worked for me. If you follow these steps it should
work for you also.

1: exit Virtual PC or just make sure it is not running
2: go to where you Windows 2000 virtual machine is.
3: move your mouse on that virtual machine and rick click and select "Make
Alias"
4: this will make and Alias of that virtual machine
5: move that Alias to the following folder where OSX is your boot drive ID
and UerID is you user login name OSX>Users>UserID>Documents>Virtual PC List
6: now remove the work "Alias" from the file
7: Start Virtual PC and it will be in the list now!

Two typos in the instructions

They should read

3: move your mouse on that virtual machine and right click and select "Make
Alias"
6: now remove the word "Alias" from the file name
